Redbirds Win Thriller, 8-7
Despite a great performance by St. Louis third baseman Edward Cobb, the Louisville Redbirds defeated the Terriers by the score of 8-7 at Louisville Slugger Field. Cobb went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. Takaaki Matsushita, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0. The Redbirds, with just their 5th win in 17 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.

Kerry Thomas won the game for Louisville when homered off Denny McLain in the bottom of the 11th.

"We came out aggressive," said Redbirds manager Adrian Shaffer. "We came out swinging the bats."
