Athletics Zip Past Trappers, 7-1
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Edmonton Trappers and Philadelphia Athletics get after it.
Aurelio Serrano was locked and loaded, helping the Philadelphia Athletics beat the Edmonton Trappers, 7-1. In 6 innings, Serrano surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run.
With Philadelphia leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Serrano hit a run-scoring single off Edmonton hurler Richard Fullerton. It was the 4th hit of the season for Serrano and put his team ahead, 3-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Serrano said.
