Victory Pushes Blue Jays Record to 25-20
Toronto beat Ottawa on the strength of starter Ogai Nakayama's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-1. The save went to Steve Carlton, number 9 for him. The victory gives the Blue Jays a record of 25-20.

The Blue Jays got an important contribution from right fielder Edgar Ledesma, who in the bottom of the third punched a 0-1 fastball into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-0.

"We'll savor this win," Nakayama told the Toronto News, "then get ready for the next game."
