The Montreal Royals downed the Honolulu Rays, 10-6. The hitting star was left fielder Bob Byers. Byers was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Royals. The loss drops the Rays to 13-8.

The Rays had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Royals going into the bottom of the second inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old first baseman Jesse Lewis came to the plate. Lewis hit a 2-run home run on a 1-1 fastball from Honolulu hurler Reginald Burns. It was Lewis's 3rd home run of the year.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Montreal manager George Willis.
