Nakayama Lifts Blue Jays to Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the San Francisco Meatballs, 6-1, in Canis League action at SkyDome. Toronto pitcher Ogai Nakayama had a standout performance. With the victory, the Blue Jays upped their record to 40-29.
Nakayama, a native of Niiza, Japan, was dealing all game. He kept San Francisco hitters off-balance, while giving the Blue Jays 9 quality innings. Nakayama threw 107 pitches, allowing 4 hits and striking out 11.
"I just made my pitches," said Nakayama, "and the ball kept missing the bat."
