Espinosa Slugs Seals to 7-6 Win
|
With first baseman Jeremy Espinosa leading the charge, the California Seals defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 7-6, at Seals Ballpark. Espinosa hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Greg Gordon got the save, the 11th for him this season. The 8th-place Seals have a record of 32-38.
Johnny Bench dealt the Blue Jays a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and California trailing 4-3, Bench, who is tied for 4th in the CL in triples with 4, hit a 2-0 fastball for a 2-run single.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Espinosa told the California Today.
