Blue Jays Beat Harlem, 4-3
|
Fans who congregated at Hell were treated to extra-inning drama.
Harlem got a terrific game from shortstop Paul Logan. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Toronto, 4-3. Logan was 5 for 6 with a double, 4 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. Steve Carlton was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 15 of 17 save opportunities.
Howard Brown, the 28-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Brown contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the 15th inning to put Toronto up, 4-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Brown. "And not try to do too much."
With the victory, the Blue Jays upped their record to 45-35.
