Toronto rode a fine outing from starter Mickey Lolich to victory over the Bronx Bombers at SkyDome. The final score was 12-2. Lolich, now 2-1, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The win lifted the Toronto record to 49-36.

Floyd Robinson had an important at-bat with one out in the bottom of the fourth, when he hit a grand slam home run. His 6th home run of the season put Toronto on top, 4-2.
