Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Terriers
The performance of Santiago Sosa proved critical in helping St. Louis beat Orlando, 8-4. The Terriers second baseman was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Víctor Romero earned the win for St. Louis. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 4-0. Chris Chappell earned the save for St. Louis, his 4th.

St. Louis took a 4-3 lead on Millard Pérez's 4th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Pérez hit in the top of the eighth, left Orlando pitcher Angelino Rodledo visibly frustrated.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Pérez.

Orlando, at 7-17, is off to a poor start in 1972.
