|
St. Louis first baseman Màximo Carregueiro was a significant contributor in his team's 5-2 triumph over the Iron City Eddies. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for St. Louis. Chris Chappell earned the save for St. Louis, his 1st of the year. The win puts St. Louis at 2-2.
Carregueiro had a timely hit for St. Louis in the bottom of the sixth. With Iron City trailing 2-1, he turned a 1-2 curveball into a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season, making it 4-2, St. Louis.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said St. Louis manager Mike O'Rory.
