|
St. Louis left-hander Víctor Romero pitched his team to victory over the Seattle Rainiers at Rainiers Stadium. The final score was 6-4. Romero, now 7-1, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 4 runs. With the victory, the Terriers upped their record to 26-18.
Màximo Carregueiro, who finished 3rd in the UL in RBI with 104 in 1966, aided the St. Louis cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman went 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
