The Hollywood Stars got a stellar performance from pitcher Art Mahaffey, who handcuffed the Montreal offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Hollywood Grounds. Hollywood is now riding a 5-game win streak.

John O'Rourke dealt the Royals a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Hollywood leading 2-1, O'Rourke, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1967 draft, hit a 2-2 slider for a run-scoring single.

"We found a way to get it done," Mahaffey said.
