Maelstrom Fizzle in 6-0 Loss to Chew
|
In an outstanding mound performance, Charleston Chew starter Eric Landry fired a complete-game shutout against the Rome Maelstrom at Monitors Ballpark today.
Landry was the key to the Chew's 6-0 win. The 24-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 1 hit and 2 walks he allowed.
"1 hit?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."
This year Landry has a 9-6 record with a 4.49 ERA in 17 starts.
