The Montreal Royals got a sterling performance from pitcher Dave Wiggins, but the Honolulu Rays still prevailed, 5-4. Wiggins threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The winner was Ty Scott in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Will Evans took the loss. The win gives Honolulu a season record of 31-21.

The Rays were down to their final out when first baseman Tin Truong turned a 1-0 slider from Will Evans into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Honolulu Grounds crowd go wild.

"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Montreal manager George Willis said following the tough loss.
