Pioneers Snag 7-5 Win
San Francisco right fielder Jonathan Norton had a good game, even if his team did not. The Meatballs dropped a 7-5 decision to Redwood at 420 Park. Norton went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Redwood reliever Ernest Tate picked up the win, upping his record to 9-2. Armando Negrete absorbed the loss. The Canis Division-leading Pioneers have a record of 71-32.

Redwood needed the clutch hitting of Jerry Gregory to notch the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pioneers on top, 7-5. For the game, Gregory had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Redwood manager Carlos Lara.
