Stars Lose By a Run at Iron City, 4-3
The Iron City Eddies topped the Hollywood Stars, 4-3, in Ursa League action at Iron City Field. The standout performance belonged to Iron City pitcher and Oakland, California, native Rich Nye. Nye got the win, improving to 5-4. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 7.2 innings. Nye allowed 3 runs. Earning his 11th save for Iron City was Billy McCool.

Iron City took a 4-1 lead on Willie Stargell's 10th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Hollywood pitcher Hunter Lloyd in the bottom of the seventh.

Stargell told a Iron City Daily News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.

The triumph puts Iron City at 38-31 for the season.
