Gilmore Tames Blue Jays
|
Pitcher Ted Gilmore was sensational for the Redwood Pioneers in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Toronto Blue Jays. Gilmore picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Ernest Tate recorded the save, making him 2 for 4. The first-place Pioneers have won 4 in a row.
Gilmore, who was born in Columbia, Pennsylvania, threw 100 pitches over 7.1 innings, while allowing 1 run.
"Ted did a tremendous job," said Redwood manager Carlos Lara.
