The Iron City Eddies stopped the Puerto Rico Hurricanes, 5-2, at Iron City Field. The Eddies got a big game from Jed Hembree, who threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The Eddies bumped their record to 41-34 with this latest triumph.

Vic Davalillo, who finished 2nd in the CL in batting average with .333 in 1966, came through for Iron City with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. The center fielder went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI.
