The Montreal Royals picked up a win at Delorimier Stadium, knocking off the Hollywood Stars, 4-0. On the mound for Montreal was left-hander Yoriie Kichida, who played a pivotal role in the win. Steve Long, credited with the save, is now 5 for 6 in save opportunities. With the victory, the Royals upped their record to 49-29.

Kichida earned the win, going 7.1 strong innings for Montreal. The left-hander allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Hollywood hitters had little success against him.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Kichida.
