|
Montreal Royals starter Bob Wagner turned in a sterling performance against the St. Louis Terriers, leading his team to a slim 2-1 win. Wagner, now 8-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 12, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Katsunan Ito notched his 5th save in 7 chances.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for José Ramos? The Montreal right fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Royals on top, 2-0. For the game, Ramos had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Wagner.
