Clarke Shuts Out Curve, 2-0
|
All went well for Jack Clarke of the Harriman College Moguls as he pitched his team to a 2-0 shutout victory over the Robstown College Curve, limiting them to 5 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Clarke on the day.
"Jack's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Moguls manager Armando Gonzáles. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Harriman College left-hander rang up 6 and surrendered no walks.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Curve manager Ramiro Alvarado. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
Clarke has made 10 starts, tossed 72.2 innings, struck out 75 batters and walked 22. His record is 3-3 with a 3.59 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .264 batting average.
