Royals Hitless Against McClain
In a dominant outing, Jason McClain of the Charleston Chew totally silenced the bats of the Bay Royals, finishing with a no-hitter.

In the Chew' 19-0 victory, McClain faced only 27 batters, surrendered no hits, had 16 strikeouts and 1 walk.

"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Charleston manager Curt Willis said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."

Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Joe Cunningham told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "simple" analysis of the game.

"The Chew had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, McClain pitched a heck of a ballgame."

In 20 starts this season McClain has notched a 13-2 record and a 2.24 ERA.
