Honolulu Rays starter Andre Simpson kept the St. Louis Terriers hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-1 win. The winning pitcher was Simpson, now 13-2. He tossed 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 5. The first-place Rays have won 7 in a row.
The outcome might have been different for Honolulu, had it not been for Tin Truong, the former first round draft pick . Truong stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put Honolulu up, 5-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"This team keeps racking up the wins," said Rays manager Gustavo Cruz.
