Nixon Electric in 5-0 Win
|
All went well for Mike Nixon of the Seattle Rainiers as he pitched his team to a 5-0 shutout victory over the Kinuso Blues, limiting them to 2 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Nixon on the day.
"Mike's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Rainiers manager Matt Shepherd. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the Seattle right-hander rang up 16 and surrendered 1 walk.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Blues manager Matt Blue. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
