New Orleans Comes up Empty Against Carlos
|
It wasn't easy but Fernando Carlos made it look that way.
Carlos silenced the New Orleans Cougars, 2-0, in a Pittsburgh Monsters triumph at Field of the Monsters today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Carlos said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 2 walks and 5 hits.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else."
In 12 starts this season Carlos has gathered 5 wins while suffering 7 losses. He has pitched 86.1 innings, allowed 98 hits, struck out 86 and has a 5.00 ERA.
