Nothing could stop Michael Trusty today -- certainly not the Honolulu Rays pitching staff.
The 24-year-old first baseman for the Houston Colt .45s sent 4 baseballs soaring out of Honolulu Grounds and made his name a part of history. Behind his barrage, the Colt .45s took a 7-3 win over the Rays.
"In the standings, a loss is just a loss, but this one was frustrating," Rays manager Gustavo Cruz said later. "He clobbered us."
Trusty's dream game included 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 4 homers, 7 runs driven in and 4 runs scored.
"I know all the stories are going to be about me today, and that's OK," Trusty told the press in the locker room after the game. "Next time, it'll be one of the other guys."
Michael Trusty hit a solo-shot off Cristián Cabrera in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Cristián Cabrera in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Cristián Cabrera in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Tristan Gilles in the 9th.
This year Trusty has batted at a .240 pace with 93 hits, 19 home runs, 60 RBIs and scored 57 times.
