Splittorff Brilliant, Blanks Bats Friday, August 11th , 1972 It wasn't easy but Paul Splittorff made it look that way. Splittorff silenced the Terry's Bats, 3-0, in a Bass Lake Bass triumph at Terry's Field today. Despite the appearance of dominance, Splittorff said later that he felt like he was struggling all game. He gave up 2 walks and 6 hits. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I made the decision to bear down and work through it," he said. "I made a few mistakes but it goes to show what you can do with grit and not much else." In 19 starts this season Splittorff has registered a 6-9 record and a 4.97 ERA. |
