Vaughn Williams Out for Season Friday, August 25th , 1972 A blow for Vaughn Williams today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 13-14 months with a torn rotator cuff. Williams suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Charleston Chew are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Williams's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature. For the season to date, Williams has no saves in no relief appearances with a 14-4 record and 3.94 ERA. |
