Boyd Rips Terry's for 5 Hits Monday, July 24th , 1972 No matter what the Terry's Bats threw him today, Howard Boyd hit it. The 19-year-old Red Bank Clerks right fielder racked up 5 hits in 5 at-bats today at Old Saybrook Fields and led the Clerks to a 13-3 victory. Howard Boyd hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Rodney Watson in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Rodney Watson in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Don Gullett in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Bill Williams in the 8th. This season Boyd is batting .304 with 99 hits and 32 home runs. He has scored 84 times and has 84 RBI. |
