SL1 Star of the Week Picked Monday, May 14th , 1973 The Sub League 1 has made it official -- Gary Smith is this week's winner of the Player of the Week Award. The Inglewood College center fielder was sensational with a .458 batting average, 2 home runs and 6 RBIs. Smith also had 2 walks and posted a .500 on-base percentage. This season Smith has banged out 45 hits in 140 at-bats for a .321 average with 12 home runs. He is getting on base at a .407 pace and his totals also include 26 RBIs and 25 runs scored. |
