Orioles Stymie Toronto, Take 4-1 Win
|
Bruce Chen was locked and loaded, helping the Baltimore Orioles beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-1. Chen got the win, improving to 13-10. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 5.1 innings. Chen allowed 1 run. The save went to Mitch Williams, number 3 for him.
The Orioles got a big at-bat from right fielder Bobby Higginson. For the game, Higginson went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 36th home run of the season gave Baltimore a 2-1 lead.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Higginson told the Baltimore Gazette.
Baltimore occupies last place in the AL American League East at 66-84.
