Knoblauch Blasts Dodgers, Mets Take Game 3, 4-1
|
The New York Mets have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Los Angeles Dodgers, winning 4-1 at Dodger Stadium today. Mets left fielder Chuck Knoblauch went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win cuts the deficit facing the Mets to 2-1 in the best-of-7 Divisional Championship Series.
Knoblauch had a critical at-bat in the top of the seventh for New York, coming through with a 2-run home run to put New York in front, 4-1.
"Every team in baseball loses," Dodgers manager Ted Day said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
