Expos Defeat Cubs, 6-3
|
Montreal rode a decent outing from starter Wilmer Montoya to victory over the Chicago Cubs. The final score was 6-3. The winner was Montreal reliever Bob Lemay, now 4-0. The loser was Ryan Sellers. Russell Rugg got credit for the save for Montreal. It was his 1st of the year.
Montreal used the timely hitting of Parnell Perry to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Expos on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Montoya attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
With the victory, the Expos upped their record to 37-30.
