Daniels Rips 2 Home Runs in 8-6 Blue Jays Triumph
|
Behind the bravura of center fielder Kal Daniels, the Toronto Blue Jays topped the Chicago White Sox by the score of 8-6. Daniels was 3-5 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Blue Jays. Picking up the win was Salvatore Carrera. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 7 and walked 1. Brian Wood nailed down his 17th save.
The Blue Jays got a big at-bat from catcher Sandy Alomar. For the game, Alomar went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Toronto a 4-2 lead.
