The Seattle Mariners did just enough to secure a victory over the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-5, at County Stadium. Nobody did more than left fielder Dante Sanchez. Shelby McDonald earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 3-0. Bobby Ayala got credit for the save for Seattle. It was his 10th of the year.

This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the ninth, Glenallen Hill hit a sacrifice fly. The Mariners took the lead, 6-5.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Sanchez said after the game.

Today's win puts Seattle at 51-43, while Milwaukee falls to 34-60.
