Latest Injury News for Fariss Wednesday, September 10th , 1997 Monty Fariss could soon be placed on the injured list. The Oakland second baseman told reporters that he expects to be "out of commission" for 3 weeks because of a strained back muscle. He hasn't played since 09/08/1997 and, he said, he's "itchin' to get back out there." Fariss is hitting at a .343 mark this season. His stats show 22 home runs, 92 RBIs and 87 runs scored.
