Rijo Holds Indians Scoreless Wednesday, September 17th , 1997 Jose Rijo pitched a strong game at Tiger Stadium today, blanking the Cleveland Indians 10-0. Rijo allowed no runs on 7 hits, totaled 6 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk. Detroit manager Bob Pollak said he could tell immediately it was going to be a good game for Rijo. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," Pollak said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
