Title Captured - AL American League West Won by Texas Wednesday, October 1st , 1997 The Texas Rangers are champions of the AL American League West, but don't plan the parade quite yet. "It's a nice accomplishment, but we haven't done anything until we win the World Series," said starting pitcher Barry Hightower. "We're going to celebrate this for sure, but the real celebration is still to come for fans in Texas." The club's record currently sits at 95-65. It is the team's 7th division title and they will be seeking the franchise's 4th Replay Baseball League championship. Team manager Will Hawkins said he plans to take some time to celebrate the division title, but then it's "back to work" for members of the team and coaching staff. |
