Abecassis Strokes 5 Hits Friday, August 8th , 1997 Victor Abecassis did all he could with his bat, but it just wasn't enough for the GCL White Sox to pull out a victory. The 20-year-old right fielder rapped out 5 hits in the game, but the White Sox could not overcome the GCL Expos. GCL lost the game 8-7 today at Allyn Field. Victor Abecassis singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off David Ponce in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, doubled in the 9th and walked in the 11th. This year Abecassis is batting .276 with 35 hits, 5 home runs, 24 RBIs, 18 walks, .390 OBP and has scored 19 runs. |
