Gabby Hartnett left his imprint on the 8-4 Texas win against the Houston Astros. Hartnett, who is tied for 6th in the AL in extra base hits with 17, was 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Picking up the win was Joel Pineiro. With Texas leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Hartnett came up to bat against Houston pitcher Kumar Rocker. Hartnett hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 12th home run of the season put the Rangers on top, 7-3.

"The team always comes first, so pulling out the win on a day like today is the most important thing," Hartnett told a reporter while responding to autograph requests. "Our fans like to come out to see a win, so I'm happy to do what I can to give them that."
