Boone belts 2 home runs, Leads Astros to Win
Houston second baseman Bret Boone helped his team beat the Texas Rangers, 8-4. Boone, who is tied for 4th in the AL in home runs with 18, went 2 for 3 for the Astros. The winner in relief was Jack Sanford. He is now 3-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. The Astros now have a record of 27-35.

Whitey Kurowski, who is on pace for 120 RBI this season, chipped in for Houston with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
