Texas Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
With left fielder Ralph Kiner leading the charge, the Texas Rangers defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 6-5, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Kiner, who leads the AL in home runs with 28, was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Texas pitcher Rigoberto Sanchez got the win, upping his record to 4-2. Len Barker got the loss. Texas, at 44-32, holds down first place in the American League West Division.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Texas right fielder Melvin Nieves, facing Len Barker, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Rangers the 6-5 win.

"This is a very good team," said Nieves. "We have the chance to do something special."
