Padres Deal Pirates 5-3 Loss
|
The San Diego Padres beat the Pittsburgh Pirates, 5-3. San Diego pitcher and Kingston, Jamaica, native Justin Masterson led the way. Masterson got the win, improving to 9-11. He allowed 3 hits and walked 5 over 6.1 innings. Masterson allowed 3 runs. The Padres now have a record of 61-63 with the win over Pittsburgh.
Jorge Romero, the 31-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Romero contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put San Diego up, 2-0.
