The Chicago Cubs got a great start from 36-year-old right-hander Marty Bystrom, as Chicago won the contest, 9-1, at Citi Field. Bystrom threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball in the win, which knotted the best-of-7 series at 1-1.

Chicago relied on the hitting of Matt Williams to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Cubs on top, 5-0. For the game, Williams had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"It's true for every sport, I think, but the playoffs are so short that you've just got to get in and get hot," Chicago manager told BNN after the win. "We took care of the first part and now we're just working on the second."

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, October 7th , 2064 at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
