The performance of Joe Cronin proved critical in helping Nashville beat Pittsburgh, 8-4. The Stars shortstop went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. The Stars, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.

In the top of the third, Cronin had one of his most important at-bats: a 2-run single off Stephen Strasburg that staked the Stars to a 3-1 lead.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Cronin told the Nashville Times.
