Hits Galore: Blair Drills 5 Hits
Walter Blair exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Banner Island Ballpark.

The Inland Empire catcher had a field day in the 16-7 triumph over the Stockton Ports, finishing 5-for-5.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Blair must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Walter Blair doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Lupe Castro in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and walked in the 8th.

In his season totals Blair has 24 home runs and a .361 batting average.
