Sunday, November 3rd , 2069
What does it take to win the Cy Young Award?

Just ask Sandy Koufax of the San Francisco Giants -- the latest National League Cy Young Award winner.

"My dad always told me to dream big and dream always," he said. "It's not like I shoot for the Cy Young Award," he said. "I have big aspirations for what I want to do in this game and what I want to achieve in a long career."

The Giants pitching ace made some of his dreams come true this year, winning 14 games and losing only 10. In 33 starts, Koufax registered a 3.15 ERA and limited other clubs to a .233 batting average. He fanned 260 in 222.2 innings and issued 50 walks.

He received 14 first place votes out of a possible 24. Mike Minor of the San Diego Padres finished second in voting with 10 first place votes, while Ed Walsh of the San Diego Padres finished third.
