Stags Pitching Ravaged by Knight
Staten Island second baseman Ernest Knight had a big day at Fire Fighters Ballpark against the Saratoga Springs Stags. The 23-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 6-for-7 and led to the 13-7 Ferry Hawks triumph over Saratoga Springs.

"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Knight said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."

Ernest Knight grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, hit an RBI triple in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and hit an RBI double in the 12th.

This year, Knight has socked 90 hits in 286 at-bats for a .315 average with 10 home runs. He is getting on base at a .349 pace and his totals also include 45 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
