Walt Hooper, who is a two-time All-Star, was locked in. The right-hander led the Texas Rangers to a 6-5 win against the Washington Senators at The Ballpark in Arlington. The third-place Rangers have won 4 consecutive games.

The Rangers got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Preston Carroll. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Rangers.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Hooper told a Texas Herald reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
