Mitchell Belts 5 Hits Sunday, April 28th , 1996 Whitecaps left fielder Jared Mitchell had his way with Harrisburg pitching at Norse Park and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His efforts were all in vain, though, as the Senators ruined his great day by toppling the Whitecaps, 11-9. "I had a great day, but you've got to give Harrisburg credit, they did what they had to do to win," he told reporters after the game. "They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits." "Oh, we noticed what Mitchell did today," Senators skipper said. "He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him." Jared Mitchell singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Mitchell is currently batting .361 with no home runs, 10 RBIs and 12 runs scored. He has 30 hits in 83 at-bats. |
